Im looking to improve the handling on my SR as it feels like its going to flip, going around corners.

Ive looked into this a fair bit, I dont want coilovers

What I need to know is, what would give me the best results for handling? I was thinking to get an RARB?? Or is there something better I should get first?

I have standard SR shocks with Apex 40mm lowering springs

Thanks

Adam.

i Have had an N/A and a Glanza and have fitted all sorts of handling parts:

RARB

strutbars> front, rear

C-pillar bar

panhard rods

shocks

and without a doubt for me the biggest difference was in the RARB, so get that first. Even if its the only thing ou get handling wise.

c-pillar bar doesnt make a difference??? well i can assure you that on my car it definately made an improvement in handling of the rear end.

rear ARB has made a hell of a difference to my car, as did front and rear struts. I've also got a Zisco c-pillar, your Room Bar, your fender bars and I've an antilift kit on order from Nath. I noticed discernable improvements with each addition, but easily the most significant was the ARB and then the struts.

pretty much everything you need has been stated mate maybe a full cage on top of that but thats not essential

the first thing they say to do to a starlet on the EP wiki section is rear anti roll bar and anti lift kit

i know you said you dont want coilovers but id consider it mate they make such a massive difference to the handling its unreal lol

Think im going to settle for the rear ARB and anti lift plates. The reason i dont want coilies, is because I do a lot of country road driving, with lots of pot holes, and its bumpy enough as it is.

Thanks everyone for the input, most helpful

Adam.

As StarletRick says, you dont have to ruin the ride by choosing coilovers. Lots of coilover brands will cause a poor quality ride but not all of them. My daily driver (a Nissan 200SX with a 6 litre V8 Chevy engine) runs coilovers and they provide a much higher quality ride than the original dampers (40k miles and still in good working order) fitted with Eibachs that they replaced.

most good coilovers have adjustable hardness/softness settings you can make them hard as fuck so it nearly shatters your spine or so soft it feels better than standard. so just cause there coilovers doesnt mean its going to be a harsher ride
