Tha Dragon Posted October 6, 2009 Share Posted October 6, 2009 Hi There Guy'sI was talking to a friend of mine today and he offered me a trade of his Lightweight Flywheel with my stock Flywheel and my question to you is should i go with the trade or not?Please let me know guy's.Specs of my car:-Racing Airfilter-FPR-Turbonetics MBC-Custom Exhaust Manifold and Down-pipe-Exedy Stage 1 Organic Racing Clutch-Supra Fuel PumpWhat do you guy's think do it or not? ste91 Posted October 11, 2009 Share Posted October 11, 2009 Not 100% sure on this but someone should correct me if I'm wrong:The engine will rev quicker and freely with a lightweight flywheel.The downside is that the momentum of the engine is reduced, for example if you're going along and take your foot off the throttle the revs would usually decrease slowly but you'd carry on going for a bit. With a lightweight flywheel the revs drop alot quicker and you would travel less distance than before.Not really a huge problem but it's just an example of how it affects the engine.I was going to say if you need your clutch doing then it's definately worth doing while it's off, but I see you've already got an Exedy clutch on there.Another thing to note about the engine being able to rev quicker is that boost will come on sooner.
