wssoR Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 What watt amp would i need to run a 1000watt sub, cheers Ross Quote
Jae-Glanza Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 Any amp will run it mate, However.. the higher the watt on the amp the better the quality will be. Running too low wattage will sound shit! =] Quote
Rickstar Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 minimum i say 600 watt... i've got a 1300watt mono block just for the sub.. but i've got it tuned perfect.. its not about watt really, the quality in amp and sub depending if you want quality or just bass.. Quote
Hou Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Forget max whats, what RMS is the sub. Its all about matching the RMS of the Amp to the Sub. Ideally you need to get an amp with a higher wattage so that you dont have to run the amp at full gain to get high volume. No point screwing all you can out of an amp for it to sound shit!If you don't know the difference between Max and RMS then its something you should learn about because Max means fuck all! Quote
anup67 Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 ^^^ completely right, and it also depends on the quality of the amp, there will be a big diffrence between and alpine amp, and a juice 1!at the end of the day, you get what you pay for Quote

shaneyb Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 You also need to know what ohm the sub is to match with the amp. Quote
