Turbo's Whistleing When Accelerating.

hey, just read up some of the stuff on the turbo tech section. its whislteing when accelerating, from what ive read its an air leak, what should i be checking? rubber hoses? were there clipped etc? is there a commen hose that makes it do this.

its not bothering me but id rather have it spot on.

Have you put your rx7cooler on yet? if so its that mate

not yet, the inlet from the tubo end (not throttle bodie) is way too long, either need to get 180* hose, or cut about 5inch off it, think ill cut it because itll fit perfectly then. any other ideas?

Do you have a boost gauge? Does the car reach full boost?

hey, yep got a boost gauge and avcr, yep it reaches just under 12psi, and .80bar.

Ive got the same problem, im getting to full boost, just sounds like its screaming.

It should be ok then mate, nothing to worry about.....have you just but an air filter on at all? sounds silly but it could be that sucking like our lass on a friday night

ha, nice micky. naa it had a induction kit on when i bought it, hks mushroom one. looking a bit tired now though, might look into replacing it. as long as shes not going to blow up or anything daft im not bothered by the noise. when i fit the tmic ill check all the hoses.

no it shouldnt blow up matey, but i will say make sure you worm it up and cool it down glanzas/gt dont like been started up then just drive off, loobing is the key with theys cars if you want it to last

ahh right cool. ill try remember that, how long would you say to cool it down?

It depends how much of a good kicking you have give it...if i give mine a good kicking i,ll let it cool down for at least 10/8min let the oil drain off the turbo and let the turbo cool down less chance off it smoking and fucking up

as for worming it up its good for bearings in the turbo/engine also good for the gearbox because the oil gets thiner as it gets wormer as you will know

cool. at the moment its not getting any kicking what so ever, i cant remember the last time the road was dry, not covered in snow, ice or whatever shit arse weather we get. ill remember that then,

does this noise go away after 10 mins of driving or so?? this used too happen to me its nothing major but as soon as i put a decat on the noise went away and its never done it since.

its gota decat on it, no its there whenever mate, thats what makes me think its a slight air leak, but if its hitting correct boost/pressure then im not fussed,

meh mine duz it all the time duznt bother me tho as i kno its guna be ripped off soon and replaced with my nicely polished hybrid turbo lol

Had the noise since i fitted my front relocated air filter, now even louder with my hybrid ct9 lol:P

mine does something similar to this, it sounds like a plane taking off whilst its boosting
