Tried sprayin wd40 inside the lock?

Mine wouldnt work properly and this solved it.

i put 3 in one oil spray in the boot lock . but i think wd40 would be better and should free it up.

but the passenger door lock wont be fixed like that i think lol

would it have slipped a cable or??

My locks would be like that, go to turn the key and it would be solid..had to wiggle it to unlock the door.

The wd40 trick worked for a couple of months n then had to spray them again.

If you havnt already get a decent alarm with remote central locking

^When the weather was really cold a few weeks ago I sprayed some WD-40 into my door locks and now they're slick as anything

I didn't think of doing it to the boot, I thought maybe it was because I was using a copy of the master key? I'll give it a go, hopefully it works :)

Despite being freezing outside I just went to have a go lol IT WORKS! :)

I removed the little mechanism from the bottom of the bootlid, sprayed WD-40 inside it, along the mechanism going up to the lock and inside the keyhole and voila, functional boot lock!

Thanks everyone!

Paul there's probably a hook or something for the key mechanism, and it may have come off?

The only way to sort it is probably to take the door cards off and checked everything's hooked up correctly?

Well I haven't taken them off myself, but should be quite easy. It's worth giving it a go I reckon! Maybe heat up the plastics a tiny bit with a hairdryer/heatgun so they don't crack when you try to remove them?

The boot is simple, just unbolt the mechanism as the bottom, and spray WD-40 all over it, wipe over and spray again, then up the metal wire/rope which leads towards the keyhole, you'll know what I mean when you take a look :)

No probs

thanks. how do you mean unbolt mechanism? just go throught boot trim etc?

Nope just at the bottom of the bootlid, just two bolts and it comes loose

You don't need to open up the trim, just get this catch loose, lubricate it all, and you'll see the thin metal pole type thing that goes from this mechanism to the bootlock.

When you turn the key, it pulls on this pole, which in turn moves the catch, so lubricate it and loosen it up with your fingers by puling on it gently so the catch moves. Then spray the key with WD-40, and also lube up the inside of the keyhole and give the key a few turns, eventually it should come loose and work perfectly! :)
