Stolen Parts Ware Would I Stand For Insurance

my mate has got a fiat punto. needed a new flywheel so his old man started doing the job jacked it up took the flywheel of and was waiting for a replacement. whilist been jacked up some lil shits took the alternator off and various other expencive parts. jw ware would you stand on the insurance? any help wouldbe much appreciated

tbh depending on whats gone i dont think it would be worth claiming (if you can) depending on what his excess is and what was taken he will end up paying for the majority of back out of his own pocket and his premium will go up to boot!!

you dont write off a car the insurace co do. and a right off is where the total amout of loss is worth more than the total value of the car. as far as parts i would think they are covered mate, if it was a declared profomance part like a fmic or somthing then you could cliam but as abouve the excess will be higher than the cost of buying new parts. its just bad luck im afraid dude.

Why the fuck would someone do that?

Just tell him to buy the parts that have been taken himself. Because if he claims through the insurance as previously said, there will be an excess which is generally £250 as default (correct me if i'm wrong). I'm sure you could pick some of the parts if not all for that price from a breakers yard.
