For All You Who Do Track Days

Recommended Posts

I bought one of these for trackday/in car use

I am chuffed with it. Its the same size as my thumb and good to catch people out with. I have used it a few times to catch my mates out at uni! :p

I didn't think the quality would be that great, but its not at all bad for the price, and picks up sound really good.

Also comes with loads of attachments and mounts so can be mounted to lots of different things.

I would defo recommend one

Yeah make sure you get class 6 or above. My mate got a lower class and the quality suffered.

I have a 8GB and it has loads of recording time.

That one in the link is a good price aswell, think mine was like £25 :p

Cheers

That is really good quality for such a small camera!!!! :p

I was intending on having a full camera system built into the Demon with say 5-6 different camera's and then a video transfer unit and a 80gig removable harddrive. But at the price of them i may just buy say 5 camera's and cards, strap them at different places on the Demon and go chav hunting :p

Its a good plan.

I was on a trackday at cadwell last month and his guy just had 5 cheap cameras mounted all around the car and he could see all 5 on his head unit in the car. They would all save onto the unit and he could watch individual camera's or all of them on the TV

It would be such a good thing to have if you could set it all up nicely, certainly impressive!

I have a pretty much brand new 7 inch screen that i bought for my Lexus but never got round to fitting it. I know camera systems can get REALLY expensive but i reckon i have found a way of doing a cheaper way for £300 pound or less. There is a device called a 'pinnacle video transfer unit' it basically means you don't need a PC. It takes whatever input you want, camera, tv, sky etc and then transfers the input directly onto a extenal Hard drive with the touch of one button. Was planning on having the camera's mounted to the cage (front, internal, rear and side views) then in theory all you need is a switch to choose what camera and a few mic's and its all good. Hard drive could be unplugged and connected straight to PC. The screen would be used to show the view tha camera has. In theory it should work but these little camera's seem like a good alternative :p
