Zero Tolerance
HI All I'm relatively new here....I have a Toyota Glanza along with an EP82 I've drag raced for many yrs now...but drifted towards circut racing now...I'm currently running a 5EFHE with a 4EFTE intake manifold. Our Track is a small and requires fast acceleration out of the corners.SO I'm considering switching back to the 5EFHE intake. My question is, have anyone checked the difference by the way the 5efhe and the 4efte intake to notice if there is a noticeable difference ? From research I've read some persons saying the 5 E have a better flow, but I need acceleration and not top end... for that I've also swapped back out the oversize 5E Cams and replaced it with the original 4E ones...since this has faster mid way acceleration... the 5 E Cams are better for more top end...Hope I was able to assist some persons from my experience...now I'm awaiting some suggestions....by the way you guys have done a great job on this forum ...now I can contribute my 2 cents !!!!! riko666
You'd do good to find the ACIS manifold from the Cynos 5E-FHE's in that case then - dual runner manifold, uses long & narrow runners until around 3400rpm when the shorter wider narrows also activate, really assists low-end torque and the effect would be exarcebated on a turbocharged engine. They're hard to find, but relatively easy to setup. You could even try using the Glanza-S/4E-FE Tubular manifold, which with its long and narrow runners will greatly aid lower down torque, but at the expense of top-end with the marginal plenum volume and the narrow runners
micky boy
Yeah someone has done that befor riko used a Glanza S inlet manifold i was thinking of doing it befor but with my set up it would be a wast of time.Pic
riko666
Yeah but as you see, they extend the plenum by about 10"-12" in order to obtain better flow, but the runners are still a bit too narrow and convoluted for optimal top-end flow; and that's a "600bhp" Starlet you've posted up too! micky boy
600bhp i would love to go in that lol.Yeah i was told it wouldn't be the best inlet manifold to go for but at the time it was just an idear
Zero Tolerance
Thanks Riko666 I guess I'll try the 5efhe since I have it already....just for the experiment I'll probably see if I get my hands on the 4efe runners to try them out some day on the track...will keep u guys updated ...
