Just got back from a shopping expedition in Lincoln and there was a mini MG/Rover meet just outside the Waterside shopping centre, only about 6 or 7 cars. Was a nice looking Midget race car thing there as well as some other classics and also some MGTF's.

My god what a strange/boring bunch of people they were!! A quick conversation with one of them resulted in this:

Was just having a quick look round a new shape TF and the owner comes striding up saying,

MG owner: "bet you want to buy one of these now?"

Me: "ermmm, no actually mate"

MG owner: "well you should do as its a British car and they are going to be making a new version of these aswell"

Me: "And? Will it still be British??"

MG owner: "No, the Chinese will be making them"

Me:

Then he gets onto the subject of performance

MG owner: "This is the 1.6 120bhp model so its only the small one but its got a stainless exhaust system"

Me: "Right so what does that give you??"

MG owner: "Not sure of power but when you put your foot down...whoosh your off!! Not many cars can keep up with me when I boot it"

Me: "Right"

Then he started talking about something else but got annoyed when I walked off.

Im glad this club isn't like this. If it gets to that stage il have to invest in some beige shorts and leather sandals ;)

lol. i was at a mates house a while back and his nieghbour pulled up in 1 of them and startied blabbering on about how fast it was, i took him out a blast in the glanza and he shit himself after saying that his rover would be faster lol
