paulgtt Posted June 12, 2010 Share Posted June 12, 2010 Just got back from a shopping expedition in Lincoln and there was a mini MG/Rover meet just outside the Waterside shopping centre, only about 6 or 7 cars. Was a nice looking Midget race car thing there as well as some other classics and also some MGTF's. My god what a strange/boring bunch of people they were!! A quick conversation with one of them resulted in this:Was just having a quick look round a new shape TF and the owner comes striding up saying,MG owner: "bet you want to buy one of these now?" Me: "ermmm, no actually mate" MG owner: "well you should do as its a British car and they are going to be making a new version of these aswell"Me: "And? Will it still be British??"MG owner: "No, the Chinese will be making them"Me: Then he gets onto the subject of performance MG owner: "This is the 1.6 120bhp model so its only the small one but its got a stainless exhaust system"Me: "Right so what does that give you??"MG owner: "Not sure of power but when you put your foot down...whoosh your off!! Not many cars can keep up with me when I boot it"Me: "Right" Then he started talking about something else but got annoyed when I walked off. Im glad this club isn't like this.
