nazzurro19
i think my actuator is set too high but im not sure basically :if i full throttle in 2nd after about 4k revs it starts to choke cough n splutterif i dont full throttle in 2nd but hold the boost gause to 0.8 and let the revs build up its finebasically im on the rolling road 2moz and i know they are guna full throttle and not balance the accelerator and let the revs build upso is my actuator ok or have i got it set to high - if i set it to 0.7 can i full throttle through the rev range and then not experience this choking spluttering sort of thing??or have i got it all completely wrong ? and can nobody on here full throttle without it choking? sam starlet
sounds to me that you are hitting fuel cut. have you git a fcd?
nazzurro19
Nope not fitted but like i say if i half put my foot down balance my gauge at 0.8 i can let the revs build uo but i need to be able to full throttle so do i need to reset my actuator?
Steve GT
fuel cut will kick in at 0.75 bar so if your boosting above that then its deffo fuel cut. turn your actuator down cause hitting fuel cut a lot aint doing your engine any good lol
nazzurro19
I never hit it cause i never full throttle lol how do i turn it down buddy?
joe-ep91
Have you got an adjustable actuator then?
Steve GT
take the arm off the actuator and turn the nut down 2 or 3 turns re-connect then take it for a spin. then keep repating until you get a safe bosst under fuel cut (0.75 bar)
joe-ep91
if so you need to:1) unclip the actuator from the wastegate undoing the cir-clip2) find the nut on the actuator arm and loosen3) Wind the actuator arm inwards turning it clockwise, only a few turns4) tighten up the nut and re-connect to wastegate connectorhope this helps Joetake the arm off the actuator and turn the nut down 2 or 3 turns re-connect then take it for a spin. then keep repating until you get a safe bosst under fuel cut (0.75 bar)lol, beat me to it
nazzurro19
Yeah i got a hks adjustable one ill go try it soon so basically get it to 0.7 and then i can full throttle n not get boost cut ?
joe-ep91
yep thats it mate, you can actually take it to about 0.8bar which is just under fuel cut, but it depends whether you are suffering from slight boost creep which might exceed 0.8bar in higher revs on full throttleJoe
nazzurro19
Yeah its set 0.8 now n i get it so ill just lower it taa guys now i need a mate with some tools
nazzurro19
I took off the circlip un done the bolt took the arm off the wastegate twisted it 2 times to make it longer pushed the wastegate over a tiny bit so it would now clip back on to the arm of tge actuator and did the bolt back up but now there is a really tiny noise when ever i let off the throttle ??! Have i done something wrong? Should i have shortened the arm to turn down boost!! ? Argh please help
ollie ryan
i adjusted mine down from 1bar yesterday to 0.7 and everytime i let of the throttle there is a slight tiny noise
nazzurro19
Is it the shorter the arm the less bar u run? Cause i just made the arm longer and now my boost aint as powerful but im still getting a petty cut?! Can some one give me a really in depth guide as im currently sitting in the middle of nowhere stuck and i dont no wat to do! :'(
enots
http://dub-se7en.toyotagtturbo.com/useful_...hksactuator.pdfthats a pdf file of how to set one up properly dude should help.from looking at that file the shorter the actuator the more boost it runs
nazzurro19
ive now put it bk tohow it was as every other setting made a funny tinnie noise and was slow on boosting up , so ill just have to not full throttle and just hope it dont blow up
enots
cant you just ask them to set it up before they do a run??
nazzurro19
If i get it set to 0.7 does that mean i can full throttle and never hit fuel cut ? Or when i full throttle will i still get boost creep and fuel cut?
enots
can't remember what fuel cut is think its 0.8 so yeahh it its set to 0.7 u should be able to full throttle it as long as you dont get any boost creep
nazzurro19
I got it rolling roaded today it turns out its not boost creep or the fuel cut its misfiring at around 0.6 5750 revs!
