just wondering guys,

are the gt advance rarer than a normal gt turbo?

if so whats the extras or differnce?

this is a touchy question , just what is straightened out for me.

if i buy a gt thats registered as a non turbo for years and years, and i leve it as is, is this illegal?

how do i change the above just a call to dvlni?

GT advanced is a rarer car but not much different to a "normal" GT, advance's have two tone paint and a couple of extra bits IIRC. Some have an LSD too.

Insure the car for what it is, regardless of what the log book says. If you insure a Starlet GT as an n/a you may aswell not bother to insure it at all.

You will still get relatively good miles on the GT so long as it's stock ish.

Regarding your log-book question - most GT's and Glanza's on log-book are registered as n/a's. But when coming to insure, be sure to insure it as a turbo, or else you're not covered.

Yeah, Advances tend to be rarer.

Two tone body work is the only essential difference, all additional extras i.e LSD, recaro interior, sun roof etc etc are options..

Its best to change the log book so it is correct, you MUST insure the GT correctly i.e. starlet GT turbo.. NOT starlet or starlet GI, n/a.

You change it by sending the v5 document (registration document) with the correct information on it.

If you cant afford to insure it correctly (which in your case, i dont know. But advice for anyone who is to read this) then dont do it. You may aswell drive around without insurance as it WILL be void... imagine if you killed someone, or ran someone over or just caused a serious amount of damage. Not only that, but what if it happened to you and they had no insurance..

Besides... youd be mugging yourself paying £1000 e.g. for void insurance..
