Have already had a debate on here regarding the Remix version of the Starlet and the idea of me applying it to my Starlet.

Here's a new (and slightly crazy) idea for you all. Jo (Joey) just suggested transforming my EP91 into a convertable. I'm intrigued by the idea and am giving it some thought

Also thought of doing the Remix thing minus the spare wheel on the back in conjuncton with this

Any views on how realistically this could be achieved or just genereal opinions?

All opinions/idea welcome!

I doubt it's possible to make it a convertible to be honest -- My mates dad builds hotrods and his cousin who lives down the road was on America Hotrod because he's shit hot at doing roof chops! You should see his A-Team roof chopped GMC van!! it's cool!

Is a crazy idea and thought there was no harm in asking

Got any pics of that?

Sounds good!

far too much work mate, the roof makes up a huge part of the structural rigidity of the car, you'll prob find that most insurance companies will write off a car if there's a hole in the roof (good way to write someones car off, just stab a screwdriver through the roof ).

Would take alot of work to brace and re-inforce the chassis of the vehicle. if you just chopped the roof off it'd probably just bend in half on itself!

not exactly feasable mate  it'd weigh about twice as much as a normal starlet too, which is why alot if not most convertible cars are slower than the saloon/hatch/coupe equivalents.

Leave your starlet stock, get some experience under your belt, save up, then spunk the money on a car you truly want, something which will perform well and you'll be able to live with for quite some time, or until you can afford something better again.

Sound advice there ecks, agree with what you're saying to a fair degree. As having doubts as to whether or not to mod my starlet at all or just save for something better (as you've suggested before)

Was a nice idea at the time
