gingdust Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 have a HDI FMIC and wanna mess about by blanking the 35mm BOV hole for chatter.was wondering the best way of doing this and where should the pipe from the inlet manifold go? blanked aswell?thanks Quote
jezza Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Is you BOV adjustable? If so thighten the spring and get chatter on low boost and dump on high. Best of both.If it's not adjustable, find a blanking piece with suitable diameter and jubilee onto the silicone hose on the intercooler pipe. You can put a self tapper or small bolt in the end of the vacuum pipe to block it off. Quote
drew 007 Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 ^^ I believe it does matey as it will mess around with the idling of the car, if left open to atmosphere. Quote
lukEp Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Just take the vac pipe off the bov and stick a screw in the pipe for now so you can listen to the chatter. Quote
Sanchez Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 You can buy intercooler blankers off ebay Quote

I have a HKS BOV, that is adjustable, but no chatter at all. when i adjust the screw, not alot changes.its not a HKS 2, looks smoother a slightly bigger? is it a possiblilty its worn out the spring? really want the high pitched 'chirp' of a HKS but its no where near that, really deep sound cheers Quote
ollie454 Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 where did you get it from mite be a copy mate Quote
gtmuzz Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 I've got a wheel nut in the pipe my dumpvalve used to to be attached to using a jubilee to hold it tight so it doesn't shoot out lol Quote
Dean @RW-Developments Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 ive got a hks ssqv old style and the adjusting screw didnd do a thing, what i did is take it apart which is simple and stretch the spring about 10-15 mm and on the ct9 sounds mental chatters like mad with the high pitch tssshhh at the end, unfortunatly it doesnt chatter on the td04 but ct9 sonds mental!! jezza Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 you can normally add a spacer to increase spring tension or coil an additional spring with the existing one. Quote
