A thread popped up on another forum about his car being dirty and his MOT was the next day..

Someone then posted that cars required to be washed underneath or its a fail? :D

That true or am i just being gullible and stupid. :D

In other words as long as its not absolutely bogging it will be fine :D

Normal road dirt is expected as you have to journey to the place to get your test.

they can be dirty to an extent. but if the mot tester cant see brake pipes or other inspected areas because of dirt it would be a fail

if youve been off roading so much to the extent its just a flat bed of mud underneath the car then yes it will probs fail an MOT as the tester cant do the inspections he's required

however I've never heared of this on a normal day to day road car

if you live down a muddy track etc id have a quick look underneath other than that im guessing you'll be ok

everyone i know always takes there cars to get washed the day of the test just to make sure. You hear horror storys about testers refusing to test cars that are dirty underneath. Mot is hard enough to get through so it saves you failing on somthing so stupid ;)
