hulahoops
bit of a retard when it comes to gearbox's but can you fit a standard 4efe box into a 4efte???please tell me if this is stupid lol
Idrees
Yep, straight fit. Not sure it would drive the same though as the ratios may be different.

Steve GT
gearboxes fit fineratios on 3rd,4th are the same i believe there shorter on 1st and 2nd so you'll actually in theory get better acceleration on them I've been told
Dan507
i think all the gears are shorter on a 4efe gear box, @70mph im in like 3500rpm in 5th I can remeber seeing a picture of matt doing 150mph @5500rpm in 5th
Steve GT
thats why i didnt say 5th's the same. im pretty sure 3rd and 4th are thats why 1st n 2nds better acceleration if you put a na box on a turbo but obv. your top speed will be reduced as 5ths shorter
hulahoops
so should i buy a 4efte one thats like 300 pounds or just buy a 4efe one for 100 pounds. theres a bony lsd one on flebay for 500 something pounds... might be worth just saving for that but doesnt have the extra mount or driveshaft... Sparky
500 is steep without shaft and mount!! Weakboy on TGTT was selling one with the mount and maybe shafts for about £300, seen it when I picked my engine up off him. Dont know if he still has it though. But yea a n/a box will fit and tbh I have heard the ratio's are better
hulahoops
hhmmmm its temping to buy one because i badly need a box grinds 1st, 2nd,3rd,4th and reverse lol
Amjad
I find my 4efe gbox is notchier than my 4efte one, the GTs shifting is super slick!

Driver
Fits fine and nicer to drive round town with shorter ratiosI have 4efe box on my glanza, did loose around 15mph top speed (limiter in 5th on fte box was 160 indicated speed, limiter in fe box 147ish inditated speed) And managed to shave .4 seconds off 1/4 miles time with it alsonot overly strong, well it didnt like 270bhp anyway haha, but it was whining when i bought it
