mk1kurt
right i am going to be rebuilding a FHE with the intention of putting a turbo on it but before i do this i need to find out some info..1) does the starlet turbo big end bearings fit 2)does the oil pump off of a FTE fit and water pump3) crankshaft oil seal off of a FTE fit 4)does the FTE piston rings fit also roughly how much are we talking to forge a 5e ?the other thing is wht will be needed to turbo it ?i know obviusly wiring looms e.c.u .would i need all the coil system out of a FTE and would i need custom engine management to run the whole set up? thanks kurt

Russleh
use the search feature and type in 5efte mate. was gonna give ya a link but there are a few helpful threads to look through so better to do it yourself. im sure the main difference in an fhe from a normal 5efe is cams i dunno what else tho so otherwise i think it will be just like any other 5e conversion
Guest Enzo
1) does the starlet turbo big end bearings fit no, the fhe usus a completely different crank2)does the oil pump off of a FTE fit and water pumpyes 3) crankshaft oil seal off of a FTE fit 4)does the FTE piston rings fit what, on fhe pistons?also roughly how much are we talking to forge a 5e ?1500 minimum for just a bottom end reabuild7-800 for rods + pistons400 for a bottom end assembly90-120 for headbolts70ish for all bearings.the other thing is wht will be needed to turbo it ?the fhe? ontop id get a slighlty thicker gasket if your using fhe rods along with tapping the sump for the oil return off the turboand would i need custom engine management to run the whole set up?idealy an fte loom would be an easy option after that ure left with two optionspump and regulator some form of ecu management.
