Tommy_G Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Well as you may well know i bourght a GT turbo spoiler. for my EP91 solidanow, although being a car geek, ive never done any bodywork stuff before. i should be fine spraying etc, but i need some instrctions on how to fix it to my car.A couple people have suggested screwing it on, then bonding it on. thing is im not sure where to screw, presumably i need drill holes in the boot etc?Cheers Tom Quote
Idrees Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 You'll have to screw it on for it to be secure. Drill 2 holes at the top of the bootlid and screw them in to the spoiler. Also use Stikkaflex on the inside of the spoiler so its nice and tight, but please DO NOT seal it with that (Meaning use it on visable areas) or else it'll turn into some nasty yellow colour after a few weeks, happens to the SR's front lip all the time!! Tommy_G Posted January 9, 2007 Author Posted January 9, 2007 right, cheers idrees... but wont the spoiler crack? oh and its got two. bolts sticking down in the centre, presumably that used to fit into the GTs boot?can i use the old GT thread? or is it easier to make new ones?Cheers Quote
Idrees Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Easy to use the old GT thread. What to do is, mark out where them threads go on the bootlid, and drill two right sized holes out. Then use a bolt on the inside to tighten it up.Make sure it a nice fit, then take it off, put Stikkaflex on all the inside, and fit it back on again.Good luck.
