i looked into it for my white qaudlight, you need to mot it before you take it there and have insurance but you cant tax it until the vic check is done

but what about log book? theres nothing to take with the car so just get it ready and take for a MOT?

yeah if its been writen off dvla take the logbook. you will get a new 1 when you have the vic check done. you can also drive to and from dvla without tax if you have proof the test is booked

just insure and mot the car then go get it done.

just be carefull with the insurance company as i insured my GT then took it for the mot and later that night the insurance company called back to say they couldnt insure it as it was a CAT C. I never bothered to tell them as i didnt think it would make a difference.
