Jamie1st Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Hi all, on tick over my car will warm up nicely, showing just below half way on the temp gauge, however, as soon as im on the road, it soon goes down to just above cold, like not even in the markers of the gauge (thats how low it is)Would this be due to my FMIC and relocated intake? Or is there a problem somewhere such as thermostat etc?Cheers Quote

Are all the ep91 thermostats the same? Should be able to get one from the local motor factors if they are and do it tomorrow.. Quote
Jamie1st Posted January 31, 2011 Author Posted January 31, 2011 Okay dude, I'll update you when I know the fault! Quote
steady_eddy Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 My glanza does the same! If u find out what it is give me a pm. Going to check my thermostats Quote
Whitegv Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 its the stat. if you cant get one for a couple of days cover half your radiator with a bit of cardboard to stop it cooling so well. stat takes about ten mins to change and i think mine was 13 quid from local motor factors. camskill do them for £9 Quote
Jamie1st Posted February 1, 2011 Author Posted February 1, 2011 Rang the local motor-factors, they got one in within the same day, fitted it this evening, been for a good 80 mile drive all round tonight, all problems solved! Sweet, cheers lads! Quote
philpott Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 mine only goes to about 70 max at idle then drops back down to 50 when driving.. ;) Quote
_shaun_ Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 good to hear it was a nice easy n hopefuly cheap fix ;) Quote
scottyb Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 mines been doing the same too, glad to hear its an easy fix. now just to find out where the thermostat is haha. Quote
Jamie1st Posted February 1, 2011 Author Posted February 1, 2011 Right hand side of the rocker cover you should have your dizzy, just below that is your thermostat.Jamie Quote
Jamie1st Posted February 1, 2011 Author Posted February 1, 2011 mine only goes to about 70 max at idle then drops back down to 50 when driving.. ;)Mine was a lot worse than that, when driving before, mine wouldn't even go in-between the markers!Cheap enough part to replace, (I paid over the odds for mine at £15 inc Vat, but it meant I could get it with in the day) So I'm guessing it would be a good place to start Quote
Jamie1st Posted February 1, 2011 Author Posted February 1, 2011 Oh, and are these supposed to running roughly 90degrees? If I remember right 96? Quote
