Guest Enzo Posted January 23, 2007 Share Posted January 23, 2007 was dead set on getting an afr guage but have heard mumerus bad reports about them not bein acurate,so started looking into exhaust temprature gauges,remember reading somehwere these gauges can be used also for monitering weather the car is running lean or rich?is this true?if so how would i go about installing one of these? lobotomy Posted January 23, 2007 Share Posted January 23, 2007 Yeah as the richer the mixture is the colder the engine will run, and leaner the hotter it will run... I'm not sure what "base" levels are though for stoichiometric etc but it does give you an idea.If you want an accurate AFR just get a wideband lambda sensor -- you get them for about £300 on ebay including a gauge.
