Wulliec
Well i discovered my split CV boot too late and now im getting a knocking when driving and turning so the joint must be gone! I have just got my new joint today but i have absolutly NO idea how to replace it? Is it a wiser choice to take it to a garage or is it fairly straight forward? As in depth an explination as possible on how to do it would be fantastic as im prone to hitting every possible problem that could ever arise!! Cheers!
jbird
first things first... if i didnt know how to do a job on a car i wouldnt carry it out.especially something like a cv joint/driveshaft.if youve already got the part then take it too a garage. shouldnt cost you a great deal. LukeH
if you dont try anything, you'll never learn.i split my c.v boot last week and struggled to get the cv off the drivesaft.in the end i ended up buying another c.v. boot that comes split that you glue together.after fanning about with that, now if i needed to change my cv i think i would just take it to a garage to save alot of agro.not saying it cant be done by yourself though.
