how do you adjust handbrake on drums?

can anybody point me in the right direction to adjusting my handbrake from the drums?

can you just adjust the cable next to the handbrake lever ?

take of the plastic cover and then tighten the 10mm nut.

im thinking of a gt handbrake but cable should be same surely.

Yes you can adjust at the drum.

30mm nut undo it and remove the drum.

Inspect the brake shoes and cylyners for uneven wear and fluid leaks

You will see at the top there is a spring mechanism with a sort of cog attached you need to tun it to adjust the brake shoes.

Clean up the drums and refit

Repeat on both sides until both brakes seem to be the same.

Note:you will have to do this with the handbrake off:)

There is an easier way than removing the drums.

There is a small hole on the back of the drum that you can fit a flat blade screw driver into.

If you have an inspection mirror you should be able to see the adjustment cog inside.

Use the screw driver to spin the cog until you get the brakes where you want them.
