madmax_926
Can you post some pictures of your civic rad + fan im using this kit:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-CIVIC-CRX-...=item483a28c98bim after some photos of how you have fitted the fan, and the picture of what way you have the blades want to double check mine is correct i will post some pictures of mine todaySo what happened today:Went to the car wash, had the car polished and cleaned and they left it running the whole time; 45min - 1hr so i think the thermostat has been nuked. (I know the thermostats are so weak) I got in the car to see the temperature was up a fair bit but not in the red i didn't hear the fan going but then again exhaust is quite loud. I turned it ovff opened the bonnet and let it cool for 5-10min.I drove off the temperature stayed at half way but then spiked up to 3/4 (but not in the red) whilst driving immediately it settled back to half way, know i know these are tell tale signs of thermostat as it did this most of way home. up and down up and downknow im going to change the thermostat as its cheap and takes a couple of seconds to do.But my question is this which relates to my civic rad and fan setup. The fan is mounted on the BACK of the radiator the air is travelling towards the back of the car so it should be sucking air through the rad is this correct? i have a video also you can see the paper blowing towards the back of the car:now please correct me if im wrong i have been running this setup of fan and radiator for like 2-3 weeks and its been sweet, i just believe the car sitting there for so long on idle has nuked the thermostat hopefully you can confirm.i will rep you! thanks
Gerrit P
The mounting and wind 'sucking' off the fan is correct. I think you must look at the thermostat if that's correct. Better you replace it for a 68 degree thermo from SARD or so.

james@cjperformance
If you leave it does the temerature then drop again after spiking. you can remove and check the thermostat is working by heating it an a saucepan.Have you checked for air in the coolung system ad that is what it sounds like. rorenapier
I wouldnt listen to this crap. a lower thermostat will not help in this situation. The mounting and wind 'sucking' off the fan is correct. I think you must look at the thermostat if that's correct. Better you replace it for a 68 degree thermo from SARD or so.
