New Oil Seal? and hi/low boost controller question

Hello

When i am going along in boost and i release my foot a lot of smoke is coming out of the exhaust.

The car is also burning oil. Has the oil seals gone in the turbo?

If they have what is the best think to do?

Also when the car was brought I was told the actuator is at 1bar and the standard hi/low boost controller is not working. How can I connect the boost controller back up?

Any help would be appreciated.

Surely if it was piston rings it would smoke constantly?

It doesnt smoke when driving at low revs but only when you drive in boost is smokes.

This is probably your turbo mate, also you cant plug the hi boost low boost in with an adjustable actuator you would have to get a standard one, i happen to have one for sale

i have had oil seals go and it got through near enough no oil

piston rings drank oil!

Thanks for your replies, I have been doing a bit of reading and it sounds like it is the oil seal on the exhaust side.

Is there a test you can do to check piston rings?

Can I just put on a standard actuator and plug in the standard hi/low boost and drive away or will it have to be remapped?

How much for your actuator?

if you do a compression test mate that should show if piston rings have gone.

Ok i will do a compression test in the next couple of days.

Approximately what should the results be on the compression test?

Just check the compression is fairly the equal in all cylinders

There will be all over the place or there will be one that is way out if there is an issue

I would say its the exhaust oil seal mate.

Compression test should be between 150-200 and make sure they are all roughly the same as said above.

You need to use a T peice with the HKS Actuator to use the stock boost solenoid, check the link last photo
