raffa_mk
Get a 1080p hd tv, I would spend about 600 on one at 42" size, get a min of 100hz for football n games , the higher the better and good contrast, go for led display rather than LCD, and spen the rest getting a wall mount and decent surround sound

Steve GT
fuck 42" you want 50 I've got a 50" plasma and i love it.....but dont get plasma cause eventually it will start to burn itself. as raffa said 1080p HD LED TV will be awesome. if not then LCD
Amjad
We have a 42" LED LG TV, 1080p with 100hz (awesome as it never blurs in fast moving pictures) can't remember the name sorry, but it is amazing haha
Lukew360
You should get a mint TV for £800, they've come down loads in price lately.Apparently LCD is only good up to 32" Anything bigger then go plasma but they are a bit noisy and as Steve said they have a shorter life than the LCD. TBH mate it's all about the LED ones now so I don't think you can go wrong with that.

d-a-n
http://www.richersounds.com/stores/edinburghGo along to a Richer Sounds - they usually employ knowledgeable staff and their prices are very good. If you get on their mailing list, they often have good deals so if you can hold out, you could get a bargain (I did, especially seeing as it was just after Xmas!)
