Garci Posted September 30, 2011 Share Posted September 30, 2011 My Ep82 Td04l , car was stolen from my work in winter march 2011found 1 week later on fire looking like this:Love the starlet bad ,so decided on fixing it back.buy an engines to swap to swap out. Old blue cover engine blew 2 pistons -yeh they boost the crap out of it.Started stripping the inside out not looking good.so out goes burnt carpet, couldnt fine a used one so ,plan Bstart sourcing parts for dash and console and seats, got most of the parts from some tgtt members just paid shipping and got the parts for next to nothing. Thanks boysPickup a pair of Lancer Evo seats from jdm shop $300had to made a bracket to bolt down the backEngine back in took me 2 nite on my own, lots of swearing wrench flyin across shop floorSo cant afford a paint job, i decide to attempt wiping stupid silver paint off, after tryin a ton of different stuff without luck i got fedup and left the car in the shop for 4 days , buy a can of brake cleaner on way home from work to try it and to my surprise on entering the shop it was all black again lol my inlaws spray sumthing on it got all the silver paint off. cant Thank them enough.So now car isnt an eye sore am excited to go for a drive,but still haven't tried firing it up , just nervous having putting a car engine together all by myself. started checking over all the connecting hoses bolt etc under hood when i realized the VIN plate is missing oh sh%t not good as insurance was coming to look at car on the weekend before i could get back my pink slip.
