DaveyDemolition
Had enough of this now, always said i wasnt going to have a back box because i didnt want to follow suit of all the chavs etc, but fuck it i really want a nice one now. I'm not interested in a decat one or anything because i would like my car to pass m.o.t's without hassle of changing the exhaust before hand and i dont want a full exhaust i just want the back box... whats the cheapest alternative to this? how much would it be to have just a back box at prospeedexhausts? if anyone would know.. or shall i wait untill a cheap one pops up thats already been made to fit a starlet that i can just fit straight on without any welding? because theres plenty of universal back box's out there, but obviously they all have to be welded, if it was like £100-£150 to have it proffesionaly dont at prospeed, would that be better? because id probably happily pay up to £150 to have it done, but if i was buying an exhaust i would only really want to pay up to about £50-£60 ish, cheap i know but thats me. ive spent enough on this car already and im no where near how i want it. Amjad
Prospeed will charge £150 I think, and will do it how you want, had mine done by chopping up an existing box of theirs and customising it
Billy SR
have a remus on mine as i couldn't source a tte, cost me £110 second hand in almost new condition (retails for more than double that new!) my local mechanic welded it all together. i still have my cat due to petrol and mot reasons, but that car is not as loud as i wish it was. passed emissions perfectly though! any exhaust can be fitted on with a bit of bodging and the right person to do it might wanna consider a glanza bumper though, i have a nasty cut out and i hate it!my friend has a decat system from mij performance on his 1.2 ibiza, sounds amazing for a 1.2 but he gets about 25mpg
ryan lang
prospeed will do you a nice catback exhaust mate, so you get almost a new exhaust and still get to pass MOT's amjad had 1 done, but not sure how much it cost him
Billy SR
video of amjad's. pretty fucking sweet
The Toffinator
Decatting it shouldnt ruin fuel consumption, when mine was decat it was no different...
ryan lang
it makes no difference to fuel consumption at all because it comes into use after the fuel has been burnt its to lower the emissionsi may have my backbox for sale soon mate, but id definitely recomend saving and going with the prospeed catback
DaveyDemolition
How much would you want for you back box if you were too sell it?
ryan lang
dunno, £70? but the pipe is much thicker than a standard exhaust, so it still wouldnt be a straight bolt on

starlet87
with decat u can always get the adjustable one so u dont have to take the decat off and put the cat bacl on for mot so i would look at the adjustable decat

DaveyDemolition
How would i get it to fit mine though? prospeed said £165, or £60 if i got a universal one and they welded it which i think is a bit steep for just a backbox..
ryan lang
just go to prospeed and get a catback, stop buying stickers and save up lol
DaveyDemolition
lmao i dont spend all my money on stickers, apart from the stickerbombing i have about two stickers on the body work, then like 3-4 on the back window i know a catback would be nice, but i just really want a back box at the moment My corolla mani came today so im going to have a crack at fitting it tomorrow
ryan lang
i would say id give you a hand, but cant afford petrol or oil lol.you'll only end up paying more in a few months when your straw exhaust decides it wants to fall off with your backbox lol. just stick it out for now and get it done properly
DaveyDemolition
lmao i love how you keep saying fuel 'and oil' i just find it so funny i had a quick look today before i went out and it looks pretty simple, i can only give it a go cant i
