i havent no just been asked if i can change it for them lol if its just in the inner rods aprently u have to change the rack as it damages the rack or something lol

no lol they said if theres play in the inner rods you cant only change the rods as the play proberly has damaged were they bolt to or something

Thats the first i've heard of it lol. It's just a ball joint, it will have only worn down enough so that there's play. Cant see it doing any damage bar to itself

so changing just the rods will be fine :(

Don't see why not, they're only electric pas, the rest is still a normal steering rack, have you checked all the usual suspects?

Wheel bearings, track rod ends, track rods, perhaps even the universal joint between rack and column?

basicly it sort of sounds like a really loud anti roll bar link knock but a garage has said the rack is on its last legs even knowing it past an m.o.t lol il have to have a look over it and see :(

Bes to be sure of the problem matey. Known people spend £100's trying to sort a problem just by guessing at the problem. If it needs a few little bits you may aswell replace it at the same time. Silly little things like bushes and ball joints are pennies to replace and always make an improvement
