Anyone been before?

Decided yesterday morning that I want to go next year so spent most of the day researching so I can budget for and save up to go next year! Very excited even though there is 15 months left until then!

I spent all day yesterday and some of last night reseraching costs etc. If I can get 3 of my mates to join me (one seems a dead cert) to go and share a car it should cost us £200ish for ticket, campsite and eurotunnel, £50 each based on 40mpg average for fuel and then just cost of food and drink. Think I am going to budget about £400 and start sticking £25 a month away to prepare for it

Also found a great site about it: www.beermountain.com

YES! I went in 2010 and to be honest, FUCKING EPIC is all I have to say really...

I went with 11 friends and we stopped at the Le Mans race track for a week, gerrin pissed and enjoying the event etc and then made our way to Amsterdam, stopping off in paris and sun bathing on Dunkirk beach lol. Spent a few nights in Paris and then a few more in Dam. Then we made the drive back to Calais... Thats to put it short anyway lol! Hell of an experience. Wouldn't hesitate to do it again with the right people... I took about £500 and split fuel costs 3 ways with my mates in the same car. I could have done with a bit more but if you're just going for the race and week or so camping, £500 should be enough ;)

Awesome cheers dude, i think to be fair after everything I have read on beermountain and pistonheads it is a given that i am going for definate! All I need to work out is who I want to join me and which company to register interest with (speedchills/pistonheads etc)

Who did you book through or did you do it all direct?

The experience is deffinately 90% down to who you go with, just like anything.... You wouldn't take your gran to a rave party afterall :p. My friend arranged it all but I remember our tickets came from "first tickets.com" or something like that... I'm fairly sure he did it direct? We didn't go with any groups anyway. Just went in our own little group :). You won't regret it mate! If you have the time, fuel and money I would deffinately reccomend stopping off at paris for a day and night out as well as amsterdam. Its easy getting accomodation in Dam although we ended up sleeping on a car park floor in Paris lol!! So might wanna plan that ahead if you decide to go :p

Haha I like your thinking. First tickets arrange the pistonheads one or can do it without the additional security, marquee etc

I think time will be the factor as some of the lads struggle for holidays, but I am now mega looking forward to this!
