GT series, vf or td series???? help

Recommended Posts

GT30 mate top mounted!! I thought at the start of mine money wasnt an object but trust me things go wrong etc. my build currently owes me 7k mate and i opted for a TD05 and zisco mani, the whole lot cost me £750 too so not a real expensiv turbo kit, gonna save for a WEPR godzilla kit now and standalone management

Haha, il enjoy the TD05 all year then maybe get one over next winter with a inlet manifold and standalone management. Looking at socks dyno printout GT series turbo is deffo the way to go, il be running same boost as him on my 5E and i dont think im come close to 344bhp tbh. I've been looking at the WEPR kit is £3000 lol oh yeah... I need a 3" exhaust too!

lol, i know what you mean with regards to his kit :) has kinda made me want one plus a majority of people go for the td series turbo so i might try and do something a bit different :) mind is made up now and im gna go with this i think-

Full Stage 3 Head.

Stock Cams and Valves tho hehe :p

Bloody hell lol so i take it you had a shit load of machining done to the head yeah? Suprised u got to over 344bhp with stock cams mate! Might have to look into the head being machined, the only machine work im having done is for the custom cams and shims plus I've got cruise valve springs. Is there any negatives about having head work as not many people seem to do it people just seem to fit cams and valve springs?

Cams generally, (unless custom made to suit) will just push your power band up the rev range...

Generally if I went for custom cams I want to gain spool time and power, in the same rev band im in now... Maybe a lil higher limiter..

My headwork can be seen in my project thread dude :p

^^^

cheers lads, i have had a look at the turbo's and im thinking a GTX3071R?

although it doesnt mention what boost it will run, i imagine it will put out more than the starlet can handle :)

i dont wana be running silly power otherwise the wheels will be constantly in a spin :(

Haha don't get me wrong, I have the money to do it but I can't justify buying another car at the moment (apart from a daily) whilst mine is ok, if I wana turn the boost up and then my little glanza can't handle it maybe I might think about the 4wd option :)

But for now me thinks, top mounted gtx3071r with supporting mods should see me right for 360 with the scope for more if I get bored ;)
