steve-gers
Does it not need a vic test if it's been wrote off?
lilryan
you'll need a vic check if it is marked on the logbook as a write off as for the quater at my uncle's grage where i work if it wastent major damage we would pull the quarter back out on are jig then fill where nessary and paint it ect in worse cases we would cutt the damage pannel out and replace with a new 1 the cost of this varoius with different garage's mate

micrat
just FYI when i got my starlet i knew it had been back into a pole (it was pretty obvious lol) but was showing as HPI clear, when i got what i thought was the v5 through it was a letter saying it had been reported cat C and i needed a VIC test...i was in there for less than 5 minutes, as long as the engine and chassis numbers match its pretty much all good, they dont inspect the repair its purely I.D!!!although im sure if you went in with duck tape everywhere and a childs bike wedged in your grille they might refuse a test ;)
Amjad
^lolYeah it's pretty simple Matt! The main cost will probably be the repair. MOT and VIC are usually straight forward
Turbo Goose
Dependant on if its a cat C, it will will need a VIC check which isn't much like £35. If it goes as a cat D it won't need a VIC check. How they choose which catergory to put a car in I don't know. I always thought cat C were the more heavily damaged ones but I've seen no end of cat D's which look absolutely wrecked. Must just be down to insurance company? micrat
this was the extent of the damage on mine, needed the bumper pushing out, and put a jack in the spare wheel well to push the floor back out! cost £0 and took an hour! but i guess a bodyshop would quote for jig time, paint, bumpers at toyota dealer prices, it all adds up...not exactly a demo derby car!!!
