Well from my other post my brother is having problems selecting 2nd and 3rd gear.

I have 2 spare gearboxs and 1 of them the diff bearings were getting noisey so was going to swope diffs over or swope gears over but

The 5th gear casing is a black steel cover where as others is the same ally cover. Has any one come across this before?

Also can any one tell me if is the n/a box is the same as the glanza box?

black 5th gear casing box (this was the box which was in it when it came over from japan)

Defently not a lsd box mate as only 1 wheel spins. And if jacked up only one wheel turns on motion where as if it was a lsd both would turn :)

Its might just be an older box, I have a c52 box now from a 91 4age that has an alloy cover, but newer ones on 4afes came with steel covers.

Cant tell you the differences but id guess the ratios would be different. They may also use different cv joints on the turbos?

Hmm im sure on my 96spec glanza the box was black but i've just gone and had a look at my 98spec glanza gear box and its alloy

The N/A box's have a shorter ratio i know that
