Taggy
HeyMy Smart Forfour failed the mot today for having both passenger and drivers split gators, apparently its now a fail and not an advisory.Mercedes the gays dont sell just the boots and expect you to pay £90 for a new drive shaft too!Anyway my question is has anyone fitted universal CV boots before, the ones you stretch over the shaft without pulling it out of the gearbox? Idrees
£90 for a new shaft sounds like a bargain? Universal boots are fine, used loads before and never had a problem. Never fitted them myself though, best left to a garage.
_shaun_
I've herd they can be a total ball ache to fit but once on they seem todo the job fine
Taggy
yeah that's what I heard too, but paying nearly £200 for somthing that should cost about £10!I'll give them a ring tomorrow and tell them i want to put a universal kit on
lilryan
we use a tool at work that streches the new boot open and can fitt it with out taking the cvs off makes life so much easyer and the tool was only 45quid from are local parts factor
