neilsmith
Alright guys im planning on getting my head ported and polished as I've 'heard' it gives more power and makes the car run better,Im wondering exactly what this does to the head and how does it make a difference and what difference does it make?Has anyone done this and noticed a difference in power and in the way the car runs?Or even has anyone got a dyno print out of before and after?Any feedback would be nice cheers!! shorty
It allows more air to flow through the chambers. thus more airflow = more spool and more power. simples ;)
Jamie1st
I'm running a 'stage 2' head, however, I couldn't comment on the difference it made as I put it on when I built my new engine.
AdamB
The powerband of the engine will move up the rpm's. Wouldn't really say its worth doing unless going for a td05 or bigger as you'll just increase lag. It's all to do with air flow through a cylinder.A small diameter cylinder the air will have to speed up to get the same volume of air through a small hole. A large diameter cylinder with air running through it, the air speed will decrease unless the volume of air is increased, ie running a larger turbo or more boost. But the 4e cylinder head is fairly well designed to begin with. Edited April 12, 2012 by AdamB
