i'v been offered a set of these but the lad dont have the shims is there a way i can use my own shims or would i have to get them out of a 5efhe

too much hassle without the shims mate, you will have to measure all the clearences and get them from toyota or made up etc!

Indeed which will equate to extra unnecessary costs

For what its worth, decline the offer mate, more trouble than its worth unless they were complete.

Or just shim em up lol not rocket science if your good with engines. that said 5efhe cams arnt a massive gain over stock but every lil helps eh?

And just to add the shims out of the 5efhe head are unlikly to fit your head without some needing replacing anyway and as they are marginly higher lift after its all measured you will find you just need your shims ground down a tad. think i paid 20quid for 12 shims to be ground. is just a dull boaring job and possably the most un exciting thing you could do on an engine lol. but worth it usualy for the end result.
