ok so basically no suprise here the gearbox in my GT is goosed(synchro in 2nd and 3rd) its an oem LSD box and i know there hard to come by and not cheap so im gonna throw a standard box in whilst i rebuild mine.

my few questions are...

can i use a good standard box to rebuild mine using the synchros from that or are they differant?

if not where to source brand new parts from main dealer?

what will i need output seals?

and any hints or tips when im doing the work?

thanks guys.

Don't think the syncros are different, but best to buy new.

Toyota will sort you out with new parts, but will be expensive.

Best to replace seals etc whilst you have the chance.

You will need to source an os driveshaft because they differ in length between lsd and none.

Make sure your clutch and flywheel are in good condition also.

I'm sure the gearbox components itself are the same, just the casing and diff are different. The c52 and c56 box are the same but have slightly different ratio's between them.
