ilghap Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 I recently bought a set of Artec german wheels (can someone tell me if they are any good?) and the chap who sold them to me said the lacquer on the lip has been stripped and polished up.He said I can use fine sand paper to get rid of some small defects and polish it back up with autosol.OK. so my question is. Can I use my poor boys wheel wax on the wheel? or should I leave the polished area alone? I don't want any reaction if there is any.1 other thing, As the lacuqer has been taken off. What is the chance that the alloy will rust/bubble up as it's exposed to rain.Sorry but this is my first set of polished wheels. Quote
Amjad Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 You'll need too keep them polished regularly. I'd use a more heavy duty wax, something like Finish Kare 1000. Really want some of that stuff! Quote
ilghap Posted June 30, 2012 Author Posted June 30, 2012 so is it safe to use wheel wax on poilished areas? Quote
Xpect Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 (edited) To your question if the Artec Wheels are good: Here in Germany a set of 13inch alloy wheels from Artec was standard on the "Moonlight" (pretty much like the CD in UK) Edited June 30, 2012 by Xpect Quote
Amjad Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 It should be safe, but you should check the instructions Quote
ilghap Posted July 2, 2012 Author Posted July 2, 2012 Cool. Just checked the instructions and it says use on metal, painted, chrome etc. I guess it's ok.Thanks for the help Quote
