Glanza AuA
high guys ever since i changed to a civic dual core radiator my slim fan seems to take to long to shut it self off. i'm not having any overheating or coolant loss either so i was just wondering if this is normal when you go civic radiator ?? i do have the fan in the right position thus blowing air toward the engine bay!! just like the oem one. here in Aruba is 24/7 hot every day so we dont have winters, maybe that have something to do with the fan staying on longer than the oem rad ??also my rad hose seems to get harder after some hard driving? noticed on my friends oem rad type hose seems to be a lot softer ?? my rad came with a 1.3bar cap don't know it this can cause extra pressure in the system ?will appreciate the help thanks guys Edited July 31, 2012 by Glanza AuA

grum-glanza
maybe you have might have a sticking thermostat replace it and see if the fan still says on as long, its possible the rad isn't big enough the keep the car as cool as the oem rad
Glanza AuA
thx for the reply, thermo was changed 1 week ago with a oem one!!
Glanza AuA
damn it drove hard today and its overheating now but only under boost
Glanza AuA
radiator seem to be building to much pressure inside, can it be head gasket ?? i'm not losing oil or coolant and there seem no oil and coolant mixing eitherdamn it
Johnboy GT
Try changin your rad cap to a 1.1 bar one instead?John
Whitegv
If its pressurising the system id say there's something wrong with the hg. it may be getting a tiny bit of head lift on boost. What turbo and boost are you running?
pick1
Flush it out re-place the coolant bleed it and see how it goes u may need a triple core rad to attempt to combat the heat u lot experience
Asad
Whats the ratio of water:antifreeze? The top hose will be hard till the stat opens up iircIs it throwing coolant back into the overflow? Give it a hard drive, open up the bonnet and check how things are ticking over Higher pressure rad caps are better, higher pressure = takes more to boil the water but the rest of the cooling system should be up to par
Glanza AuA
hi guys sry for the slow reply time difference from our country is a bit pain
Glanza AuA
Try changin your rad cap to a 1.1 bar one instead?Johni just ordered a 1.1 from ebay will try that once it arrives

Glanza AuA
Flush it out re-place the coolant bleed it and see how it goes u may need a triple core rad to attempt to combat the heat u lot experiencedid that like 3 times already make sure every air is out util no bubbles still dont know why it overheats only when boosting and the fan doesn't turn off once it starts should the td04 water line be off could that be making to much stress on the dual core ?? Glanza AuA
by the way guys it doesn't overheat all the way in the red zone because once i let go of boost it goes back no normal tempi can ride all day within normal temp when off boostits just a pain i think i'm gonna do the HG Edited July 22, 2012 by Glanza AuA
Glanza AuA
hi guys just an updateapparently my dual core rad was blocked,i now have a new one with a 1.3cap on it,it doesnt overheat anymore but the rad hose still gets quite hard like under pressure ?is this normal both the upper and lower ? pick1
Under hard boosting I believe that is pretty normal for them to build up some pressure and go slightly hard as your pushing the engine more getting it hotter and increasing water flow to try and cool it just keep an eye on it mate but if the temp ain't climbing anymore u may of cracked it
Glanza AuA
Cracked it ? You mean the head ?
Glanza AuA
anyone else ?
The Toffinator
Rad hoses will go hard buddy as the pressure increases. If its not drinking water and not spewing it out and not overheating it will be fine.
