McGlinchey Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 As above, when fitting my anti lift kit on my glanza I've seem to have broke the threaded bit inside the chassis were the alk fits to the car.. Drivers side screwed in no problem , it's just one bolt on the passenger side.. Wtf can I do from here? Thanks in advance Quote
shorty Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Scrap the car and start again Or just get a thread specialist to remove it and clean the thread up ;) cost about 30-50quid is the norm. bolloxs to drilling and tapping yourself unless your awesome with a drill you will just make a mess. get the guys who do it day in day out Quote
McGlinchey Posted August 14, 2012 Author Posted August 14, 2012 Seen on a another site about cutting a hole in the floor to get at the nut which sounds a bit drastic . Anyway thanks for the info lads Quote
klyfax Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Drill it and give it an oversize tread. You can get coils that goes from one tread and one down. From 10 mm to 8 mm or from 12 to 10. Or bigger, or smaller. Quote
Ryan-11 Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 (edited) The way i read that is you've snapped the captive nut inside the chassis? and not snapped the bolt? You'll find it hard to drill and tap it if its snapped off and is stuck inside the chassis, the only way is to cut it out and weld in a new nut and weld the bit back in.
