Hi guys,

I bought the HKS adjustable actuator last week and a digital boost gauge. I dont yet wanna fit it as I think I may need a EBC just to keep tabs on the boost levels. Luckily I work as a Tech for a main dealer and we have a boost tester. Do I go the long winded but cheap way and just slowly adjust the actuator until I get to 0.8bar. Or buy a EBC So I can have the overboost warning aswell as the whole adjustment. I think the EBC would be a safe option but I dont have a huge amount of money atm :(

Thanks, Josh :)

Kinda answered your own question mate

If your on a budget just set up your actuator as close as posible to your oem one and then get the bonnet up and keep adjusting

or

save for an EBC

Id personally save and get an EBC... do it once do it right and all that jazz

and if your planing on turning up your boost you will want get your fuelling sorted at the same time

or things will break :)

Okay sweet thanks guys. I was under the impression that u can run up to 0.8bar safely without having to touch the fuelling, I mean its already running rich due to the decat (stinks of fuel when I have someone sitting behind lol). I point blank refuse to get a fuel cut defender. I do plan to do a TD04 on it just wanted a lil extra power for the time being but a safe amount of power if u understand :)

Sweet, okay then I think il just go the cheap option and then just buy a EBC when I do TD04. Sorted!!

Also does anyone know what tools I will need to fit the actuator?? Il be fine with wiring in the gauge just need to know what tools so I can take them home, I did try to have a quick glimpse thismornin but couldnt see much

Morning lads,

Well actuator is now fitted, found measurements on gtturbo.com so meant I didnt have to piss about with adjustment etc. I wired a digital boost gauge in too as my old analogue one has lost the ability to give a correct reading. The digital gauge had to be wired into the back dash wiring as I needed ignition live and an earth. All worked fine until thismorning and now I have no dials work other than the speedo (as its cabled) but all the dash lighting works and functions. Now if it was dodgy wiring then I would imagine it would have blown a fuse but my gauge still works and reads the right pressure, so I think it may be a plug going intoo the dash thats come out, just thought Id check to see if anyone has had this problem before as I cant look at the car until tonight :( and I obvs need the fuel gauge working more than any
