Whitegv
I know this isn't the idea place to ask about my s2k but I've spent long enough on here to know people have a wide knowledge.Basically my clutch/ csc or cmc seems to be fucked.Sysmtoms are:Car was fine in morning. coming home was hard to get in gear and feels like clutch isn't fully engaged. just feels sticky. If i do a balls out racing start the clutch doesn't slip at all. so far I've changed the fluid but it made no difference. the clutch just feels loose as owt. no air in the system at all and i.can't see any evidence of the slave leaking.Any ideas? last thing i need is to change the.clutch in that its a bit more work than the glanza was lol.Any help really appreciatedthanks
lew777
Try master cylinder Sometimes they start to loose pressure then be fine then loose again
Whitegv
Would there be any sign of it leaking though? And seems odd how it was ok on the 10 mile drive to town (dual carrigeway) but half way home an hour and half later it was being shit. started off not wanting to go into 6th but gradually got worse and now it doesn't want to go into any gear really
Lukew360
Maybe it's a gear linkage? I don't know a lot about S2000s though, just a suggestion
lew777
No mate it's internal I had same problem One min it was fine next min it's playing up might worth a look
Whitegv
Gears drop straight onto the box so can't see that but never know i spose.Hadn't driven car for a week as been on holiday. clutch defo feels different to what it did do though
lew777
Mine was loosing pressure so soon as you let the clutch out the slightest it would stall I ended up changing the slave clyinder then the clutch then typical it was the master cylinder
Whitegv
Was the master hard to change
Flaminsam
Easy way to check a leaky master/slave cyl is to put the car in gear with the engine running, while holding the clutch down and left foot braking the engine shouldn't stall after say about 2-3mins. If it does stall you have a leak. Look for where the puddle is. If no puddle chances are its the fluid leaking past the seals in the master cylinder.
Whitegv
How does that work?I believe it im just interested in the principle behind it?
Whitegv
Just tried that. doesn't stall and I've tried another wayheld clutch in for 5 mins to see if the slave is creaping back in but no change
morgey
Tried changing the gearbox oil? I know you said your clutch feels strange but you also said you car was hard to get into gear, might be worth a shot? Easier than a clutch anyway :/
Whitegv
Yeah changed the box oil first thing i did. im gonna order a new slave and master today and see how it looks tonight
Whitegv
In reference to the box being fuckedi can see one syncro going but not all at the same time :/And especially when it was 6th that started to be hard to get in first.
