forged engine question?

hi

bought a engine of a member on here and fitted now .

basically it idle fine and everything but blows air from rocker cover when i remove oil cap? is it normal or something not quite right?

It will have a bit of pressure there as thats why you have your rocker cover breathers/pcv valve.

Have you checked to see they're both open and flow air fairly easily? Im not sure how the pcv valve works tho so that may or may not pass air normally, so might be worth waiting to see what another member says

the breather i have got on it is new.

also not sure i just got told by somebody that its not meant to pass air out from the oil cap.

basically if i put my hand there i can feel it 'breathing'

No thats normal, there will be air blowing out of the cap when you open it purely because air is benig squashed around by the moving parts. What IS NOT normal, is misty air coming when you rev it. You shouldnt be getting any oil vapour from the top breather.
