Blue Smoke

It seems im having a smokey problem.

When i put my foot down blue smoke has started coming out of the exhaust. To be honest i wasn't really bothered about anything that went wrong with this engine as im getting a new one in the next couple of months. But i've heard blue smoke is quite bad.

Any ideas?

I have plenty in. I had a very small oil leak a few weeks ago but it has since disappeared.

inlet valve seals are gone.

or..... your rings. but i doubt it as its only when you boot it. rings smoke all the time.

get a compression check.

Do you have any rough figures on how much it will cost to fix.

Also how hard is it to fix as me and my mate could do it if it is fairly easy.

And is it worth fixing due to me getting a new engine.

valve seals....

bout 30 quid if you do it yourself.

but of a cunt to do though. can be done with the head on the car. but its much easier if you get the head off. itll take you a few hours.

Sounds too much hassle for my liking.

It's not that bad to start stripping the engine myself. If it gets any worse i'll have to do it but the new engine will be going in September if all goes well. And at the moment it is so fingers crossed.

Get your head compression tested bro..

Could be your rings on the way out etc.. passing oil and burning it
