painting inlet mani black!

im sorry mods this is in the wrong place!!!

Is it a bad idea to paint the inlet mani black??? will it not attract heat more than silver? i was just about to paint mine then sumone asked a silly question!!

It will be fine Robert.

MJ had his done in matt black and it was fine.

If you are hell bent on keeping out heat then use heatproof black paint, and leave it matt or gloss it.

The inlet mani does not attract 'as much' heat as other manifolds in the bay but will attract a little.

The colour you paint it will not have a detrimental effect mate, but if you must use black and are worried about attracting a few more degrees of heat then heatproof paint it black, altho with heatproof paints you are limited in the colours available. If you powercoated it, the colour chart is your oyster.

Although as precautionary measure I used heatproof paint.
