SooperD
Just spent a fortune having a new clutch and gearbox and driveshafts put in only for the guy to spot a crack in the 5th gear housing (passenger side end of the box). Its leaking a little bit of oil.. Are there any ways to repair this without having the box taken off AGAIN . Cheers.
james@cjperformance
if its the 5th gear casing you can just replace the casing can be done pretty easily with the box in situe
SooperD
Just unbolt and refit ? Luckily i have my old LSD box. It looks the same so would it just be a straight swap over ? Nothing going to fall out is there James ? .. Thanks mate.
daniel_g
Nothing will fall out, infact everything in the 5th gear casing housing is a total cunt to get out haha. Just mind and clean up the contact area and use a good sealer.
SooperD
Thanks mate.. Thinkin there might be another leak on where the main gearbox is bolted to the clutch housing (if you get what i mean, not the part bolted to the engine but the part bolted to that part lol) I have shite all luck .. Need to get under it and have a look but what options do i have if that seal is fooked ? Last resort being, getting a garage to take the gearbox off AGAIN and get it apart and re-sealed Thanks so far guys.
