Weyro Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Hey guys, bought a new set of NGK BCR8ES Spark Plugs for the Glanza. Im running a TD04 on 1bar, standard internals. What should i gap them to? Cheers Quote
starletburkie Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 unsure is it 1.1 or 0.8 mm must check my new ngk iridiums tomorro in my engine builders Quote
TrisK Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 1.1mm is standard but you might have issues blowing it out. I did on a ct9 @ 1.1bar Quote
AdamB Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 As large a gap as possible without blowing out the spark. Trial and error really, try 1mm. Quote
Weyro Posted February 1, 2013 Author Posted February 1, 2013 (edited) The plugs i took out had a massive gap, the new ones are tiny, dont think i had any issues with the last ones just changed them due to not knowing when they were done last. Dont have any feeler guages, so i googled the thickness of a credit card 0.76 mm, and it doesnt fit in the gap so im guessing they have come gapped at around 0.7mm Think ill gap them to 1mm then Edited February 1, 2013 by Weyro Quote
steve-gers Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Is heat range 8 not a bit much for that setup? I though 7 for upto 270bhp Quote
Weyro Posted February 1, 2013 Author Posted February 1, 2013 (edited) seems to be running ok, drove from dundee to glasgow with no problemsthe old ones were heat range 5 lol Edited February 1, 2013 by Weyro Quote
AdamB Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 You'll also get better mpg with a larger gap ;) Quote
