kevink Posted July 13, 2007 Share Posted July 13, 2007 i just fitted my corolla manifold and the engine wont start at all!!my check engine light goes on and my oi light goes on, my oil temp shoots to the top when turning the key.anybody any suggestions?!help me out guys i am really bummed Quote Link to post Share on other sites
Guest Enzo Posted July 13, 2007 Share Posted July 13, 2007 there is an earthing point not connected,on the back of the manifold there is an earthing wire, it sounds like you forgot to hook it up,do any dash lights come on when you switch on the ignition??? Quote Link to post Share on other sites
kevink Posted July 13, 2007 Author Share Posted July 13, 2007 checked it out and is ti a wire that has a couple of smaller wires (brown and white with blue stripe) caus it was a bit loose. i tightend the bolt up.when i swith the ignition oil light jumps on and battery light towhen is switch of my oil temp meter shoots to the top and slowly goes back down again...ow and i reseted ecu bye disconn. battery for half an hour...why do this kind of things always happen to me.. Starletmeech Posted July 13, 2007 Share Posted July 13, 2007 It has to be on the inlet mani, cause the friction from the air will create static, this is why we have the earth!Make sure that no other wires are touching the inlet mani, that shouldn't be!You could also check to make sure that you haven't accidently pulled sommit loose, check the surrounding wires and tubes!hope this helps Quote Link to post Share on other sites

kevink Posted July 13, 2007 Author Share Posted July 13, 2007 just hooked up earth to throttle body. took a few chrunchy goes but she fired up!!thanks for the great overseas help!!!! u guys rule!!one more thing:only when i give a sudden shot of throttle it well.. *blurps* and misses a few fires it seems.. even stalled it once like that. didnt drive it yet just in neutrall and then i rev it. also for a short moment the engine error light lights up. is that caus she is getting used to her new longs or is there something else going on?when i accelarate slowly it holds revs nicely and sounds great with my CAI*EDIT* tried to take it for a spin but could hardly get of my driveway..moment i even just try to release my clutch she starts shocking and sometimes stalls she runs idle perfectly..
