Hi gents, my starlet will be up and running around May time and seen as tho ive spent a stupid amount of money on it im starting to wonder about track day insurance.

I only live 10minutes away from Ty Croes ( ANGLESEY CIRCUIT ) so everytime im on leave i almost live there due to having year passes, was there yesterday watching Drift One aswell as a few of my club mates from Cruise North Wales on track.

Ive never insured the starlet on track before but since ive plowed so much money into it now i wont too look into how much it will cost just to be on the safe side of things if worst case senario happened !!

Has anyone had any experiance with track insurance, if so what sort of price was ??

Cheers Aaron

Hi

Yes i have had track day insurance, its not cheap though, i insured my lotus exige for about £150 for the day, but that was an 18k car, so probably will be cheaper for a starlet :)

Ive had a quick look around and theres prices ranging from 150-600.

I think sky do track day insurance but not 100% sure. Not many insurers do it as far as I know.

Most don't see the profit as it is a risky market and high chance of payout

I'm pretty sure sky are looking into doing this. They said something about it on the RX8 Forum.

Again, back the the RX8 forum. most people insure there car with http://www.reis.co.uk/

they insure there car for the year like a normal policy and add x amount of trackdays. It doesn't seem to be that expancive but most RX8 owners are in there mid 30's

Another friend uses competition car insurance which also do several days worth of track covers.

The first companys insuring a late 20's female on a 350hp evo 3

The 2nd is a late mid 20's guy on a modded 97 NSX.

Ill be checking these guys out when my renewals due :)
