dj-rix
What torque settings should I be using, are they brand specific? Checking the bearings on a second hand engine, I know the rods are forged but unsure of brand. Is there any way I can tell?
H_D
You should have spec sheet for the rods and the bolts which will tell you how much to torque it by.
GP82
^^ Don't think he has a spec sheet?... Torque setting will be specific to the type of rod bolt and assembly lube or engine oil that is used to pull them down with. Does the rod bolts have any markings on the top of them?...
